My advice is to take your time, be thorough, and don’t give up. It takes dedication and engagement to be a good lawyer. It is a never-ending battle to stay on top of things. When you feel you have finally arrived, don’t forget where it all started; that’s when it’s your turn to mentor the next generation of lawyers to help them through those difficult early days.

Hailey completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph, concentrating her studies in Political Science and Sociology. Through the University of Guelph, she also obtained a Certificate in Public Policy and Administration. Hailey brings a wide range of customer service and administrative experience. Arcus Legal welcomes Tracey DeAdder as our newest property team member. Tracey graduated from Kingstec with an Advanced Bookkeeping diploma in 1985, and again in 1986 with a Business Computer Operator diploma. She studied business at Henson College at Dalhousie University. Tracey brings detailed knowledge of real property transactions, specializing in land migrations. She even uses her skills as a genealogist to investigate family connections to land titles. Often working behind the scenes, she enjoys the challenges that real property transactions can bring, and aims to provide a calming element whenever clients face difficult transactions. Erin previously received this award in Best Lawyers® for 2016 and 2018. This year, she has also been recognized in the category of Trusts and Estates. We are delighted to report that Sara Backman has joined the Arcus Legal team. She will be providing support in office administration and operations as an Executive Assistant. Sara is an NSCC graduate with an Open Concentration Diploma in Business Administration. Before pursuing her business career, Sara worked in early childhood education. We are pleased to announce that Kelly Mattinson has joined our real estate team at Arcus Legal. Kelly brings over 18 years of experience as a paralegal. She will be working on real estate purchases, sales, mortgages, title transfers, migrations, and land agreements. Kelly is a problem solver who enjoys helping clients transform a complicated legal process into a simple and seamless one. Kelly is also a ‘hockey mom’ of two and is an active volunteer with hockey associations and other community programs. We are very happy to have her on board.
